Pineda to SCSD: ‘Do not waste budget for women welfare’

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda urged all the agency members of the Sectoral Committee on Social Development (SCSD) during its recent 5th regular meeting not to put the budget for women in vain.

“’Do not waste the budget to the non-sense project which is not beneficial to women. Do not put a priority on projects, not needed by the women regardless of who provided the budget – the Congressman or the Governor. What is important is use the budget for the priority needs of the women sector,” she said.

“’Wag magsasabi na hindi nagagamit tapos ibabalik lang ang budget dahil hindi naman kayang i-implement lahat,” the lady governor pointed out.

Governor Pineda, SCSD chairperson said that every department must request budget on projects they are capable of doing with.

“Ang sinasabi ko lang kung saan lang ang kakayahan ng mga department na kaya nilang i-implement, doon nalang ilagay ang budget,” she stressed.

The meeting held at the conference room of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Office in Maimpis, here, was attended by the SCSD members from the Department of Education (DepEd), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Central Luzon State Universities and Colleges, and representatives of the governors from Central Luzon.
