Pineda’s aide wants to be first woman mayor of Arayat

ARAYAT, Pampanga – Madeth “Madir” Alejandrino, executive assistant to Pampanga Gov. Dennis Pineda, is aiming to be the first woman mayor of Arayat.

Madeth filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) for mayor on October 1 along with her husband, three-term Arayat Mayor  Emmanuel “Bon” Alejandrino who filed his COC for vice mayor.

“There are advantages when the mayor is a woman. They have a heart of a mother. They care a lot,” said Mayor Alejandrino in the dialect.

“Look at former Gov. Lilia “Nanay Baby” Pineda. She is a woman who became successful as governor of Pampanga,” he added. Lilia is now the vice governor of Pampanga.

For her part, Madeth said she will further increase her assistance to all villages of Arayat, “especially now that there is a pandemic.”

“I will go around the villages of Arayat and deliver help to the people,” she said.

Madeth said she will ensure that there will be peace and order in the town to attract more investors and spur economic growth.

“I want to continue the programs and projects of my husband that is why I decided to run for mayor,”  Madeth said in the dialect.

Madeth and Mayor Alejandrino will run under the Kambilan Party headed by the Pinedas. The councilors in their line-up are Doc Kabigting, Pines Alejandrino, municipal administrator Ronald Venasquez, Gerald Castro, Froilan Soriano, Lai Due, Jovito Bulanadi and July Puno.

Pines Alejandrino, a two-term councilor, said Madeth “will definitely be the first woman mayor of Arayat because all she does is serve well the people.”
