[29 October 2018] To prepare for Typhoon “Rosita”, which is expected to severely affect Northern and Central Luzon starting Monday, October 29, we urge residents of these areas to heed the advise of local government authorities and to take basic emergency measures such as stocking up food and water, and, preparing evacuation kits.
As part of these preparations, we advise our customers to charge their mobile devices and to top up their Smart, Sun and TNT credits.
Smartphone users can also download the Batingaw disaster management app from the Google Play Store, which includes tools that may be useful during emergencies — such as a siren and a flashlight, among other features.
Meantime, we have prepositioned PLDT and Smart network engineering teams in areas in the path of the typhoon to keep our communication services running or to quickly restore them if our facilities are damaged.
We have also prepared to set up Libreng Tawag (free calls), Free WiFi and charging stations at locations where communications and commercial power are limited or not available.
Let us all get ready and stay safe.
