President Marcos Jr. inaugurates NLEX Candaba 3rd Viaduct

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday, December 10, inaugurated the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Candaba 3rd Viaduct, a five-kilometer stretch designed to ease travel between Bulacan and Pampanga.

Built between two existing viaducts, the new segment aims to address traffic bottlenecks and ensure safer, more reliable transit for motorists along this vital link in Central Luzon. Marcos hailed the project as a realization of his administration’s commitment to improving the country’s infrastructure network.

“This is a promise fulfilled,” Marcos said during the ceremony. “The Candaba Viaduct stands as a testament to our efforts to provide safer, faster, and more reliable travel for every Filipino.”

The third viaduct is part of the government’s push for better mobility and economic growth through enhanced infrastructure. It is expected to boost the region’s accessibility, supporting local industries and tourism.

NLEX Corporation, the project’s developer, said the viaduct’s construction utilized advanced engineering to ensure durability and efficiency. It complements ongoing efforts to expand and modernize the expressway system in Northern and Central Luzon.

The Candaba Viaduct is seen as a major step in reducing congestion on the existing bridges, which have long been a source of frustration for daily commuters and cargo transporters. Officials anticipate smoother traffic flow and shorter travel times for thousands of motorists.
Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda and other local officials lead in welcoming the President.
