The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), as the landowner, and the Philippine Air Force, as the land administrator, have granted the Office of the President a five-year access agreement for Bulwagang Maharlika, a facility spanning over one hectare at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.
Under this usufruct agreement, Bulwagang Maharlika will be developed into an exclusive gateway for the President of the Republic of the Philippines, facilitating both local and international air travel for foreign dignitaries arriving and departing from the country.
The formalization of the agreement took place on October 17 at MalacaƱang Palace, with BCDA President and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang and Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin signing the contract. BCDA Director Hilario B. Paredes was also present to witness the signing, marking a significant step in enhancing the operational capacity of the Presidential gateway.
