PRO3 nabs Zambales double murder suspects after 48-hour manhunt

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) arrested two suspects in Caloocan City linked to the execution-style killings of two women in Palauig, Zambales, following a 48-hour manhunt spanning Central Luzon and Metro Manila.

The suspects, identified only as “Jinky,” 30, and “Benedict,” 34, were cornered inside a Bagong Barrio hotel on August 16. They are accused of killing two women—“Khang-Khang” of Masinloc and another identified as “Leng-Leng”—whose bodies were found with fatal gunshot wounds in Barangay Salaza on August 14.

Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered .45-caliber shells, personal items, cash, and suspected shabu from the site, raising suspicions of drug-related motives. Witnesses pointed authorities to a black Subaru getaway vehicle, later traced to Caloocan through CCTV footage.

Recovered evidence includes a .38-caliber revolver, the Subaru, and mobile phones now under forensic analysis. Both suspects face double murder and illegal firearm possession charges.

PRO3 chief Brigadier General Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. lauded the precision and interagency work behind the arrests, stressing that investigators are probing drug links.

“This arrest sends a clear message: whether you hide in alleys or hotels, we will find you,” Peñones said.
