PRO3’s relentless efforts on ELCAC yields 7 more rebel returnees

Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga- Seven members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New Peoples Army (CPP-NPA) voluntary surrendered to authorities of Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) on Monday.

Regional Director PBGen Valeriano De Leon said that the relentless campaign of Central Luzon police in support to President Duterte’s Executive Order Number 70 to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC), once again paid off as seven rebels returned to the folds of the government. 

PRO3 top cop said that the surrenderers who voluntarily submitted themselves to the joint operatives of Angeles City Intelligence Unit and Regional Intelligence Unit 3 led by PLtCol. Karen Clark under the over-all supervision of ACPO City Director PCol Joyce Patrick Sangalang were former members of the CNT Milisyang Bayan under KLG Front 1, Tarlac PCOM. 

De Leon further remarked that PRO3 together with all member agencies of the RTF-ELCAC 3 will continue this whole of sector approach against communist terrorist to achieve peace and national unity .

“RTF-ELCAC 3 programs is in line with 9 point agenda of the Chief PNP PGen Camilo Cascolan which is the Bayanihan Spirit and the ‘Community Service Oriented Policing (CSOP)’ for stronger partnership and active engagement with communities in ensuring peace and order and to sustain the gains against crime and violence with maximizing police visibility in areas,” De Leon added.
