PRRD to grace new Bataan gov’t center inauguration

BALANGA CITY — Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is set to grace the inauguration of The Bataan Government Center and Business Hub, a.k.a. “The Bunker” tomorrow, September 12 at 4:30 p.m. at the Bataan Capitol in this component city.

In a report from the Philippine Information Agency, at 1:00 p.m., the Thanksgiving Mass will be officiated by Diocese of Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos, followed by the ribbon cutting ceremony and blessing of “The Bunker.

At 2:30p.m., the Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for the 1Bataan One Stop Service Center for OFWs (1BOSSCO) will be led by Bataan Governor Abet Garcia and the 18 participating agencies.

At 4:30p.m., President Duterte is expected to arrive and lead the unveiling of The Bunker Commemorative Marker with Gov. Abet, 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman, 2nd District Rep. Joet Garcia, and Vice Gov. Cristina Garcia. 

Gov. Garcia will deliver the opening remarks, followed by video showing of the six-minute The Bunker Story.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello is assigned to introduce the President.

At 5:05p.m., President Duterte will deliver his message. This will be followed by four batches of photo opportunities with dignitaries, local officials, guests and provincial government employees.

About 700 guests are expected to join the inauguration and treated with dinner and music led by Manila Symphony Orchestra and the famous Aeta choir, Koro Bangkal Magbikin.

The Bunker is touted as the first of its kind in the country, the seven-storey building will house Provincial Government offices. The said structure will also allot two floors of 6,800 meters for commercial and other public offices.

Surrounding “The Bunker” are intended for business process outsourcing centers, hotel, auditorium, multi-use facilities, park, restaurants and parking spaces.

Meanwhile, other amenities of the new government center will include a secured compound with guards and closed circuit televisions, uninterrupted power supply, business one-stop shop, and national government agencies under one roof.

With the projected establishment of call centers and business one-stop shop, Bataeños may find it easy to have careers nearer to their homes while business processing is made easier for investors.
