My Lola Nor’s Meryendahan in Mabalacat City reintroduces its version of ‘putung babi’, a favorite Kapampangan snack usually made of leftover pandesal stuffed with ground meat, potato or kamote (resembling the ‘torta’ dish) then dipped on beaten egg and fried on a pan.

Before, stale bread is fed to pigs therefore deriving its name ‘babi’ (pig). While others call it paradadas or putung maklak, this delicacy remains a favorite merienda among households. Best paired with brewed coffee, tea or suklating batirol.
