SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga—Property giant Megaworld Corporation underscored its commitment to community-building with the unveiling of its Rainwater Park, a first-of-its-kind flood mitigation feature designed to complement the township’s tourism and traffic management efforts in Capital Town Pampanga.
Harold Geronimo, head of public relations and media affairs at Megaworld, said the Rainwater Park is part of the company’s three-pronged contribution to the City of San Fernando. “We’re not just developing buildings—we are building communities,” Geronimo said during a recent press briefing. “Rainwater Park will not only help address flooding in the area but also serve as a public attraction that enhances the township experience.”

The 35.6-hectare Capital Town, rising on the site of the historic Pampanga Sugar Development Company (Pasudeco), is Megaworld’s flagship township in Central Luzon. It is envisioned to be a mixed-use development combining heritage, business, leisure, and residential components.

Aside from the Rainwater Park, Megaworld has also opened township roads to help decongest traffic in San Fernando and is investing in developments like the newly launched Bryant Parklane residential condo and the upcoming Pasudeco Tower office building to drive employment and tourism.

“We aim to draw not only investors and homeowners, but also tourists, by creating spaces that are both functional and visually appealing,” added Geronimo.
The Pasudeco Tower, once completed, is projected to accommodate over 3,000 office workers, further integrating the township into the city’s economic and labor growth.
