CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council 3 (RDRRMC 3) is now on red alert in preparation for the possible effects of typhoon “Rosita” in Central Luzon.
Based on the Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment meeting held this afternoon, typhoon “Rosita” is expected to make landfall over Southern Isabela and Northern Aurora area by tomorrow morning.
With this, Office of Civil Defense Operations Chief Robert P. Manalo instructed the RDRRMC 3 members particularly those under the Response Cluster to render duty at the Operations Center to ensure continuous coordination.
“Each member-agency has to observe preparedness measures in anticipation for Typhoon Rosita,” Manalo said.
For its part, Department of Health has already prepositioned medicines and emergency management-related logistics with seven medical teams ready to be deployed in the affected provinces.
Department of the Interior and Local Government, on the other hand, has advised local government units to activate their operation centers and submit pre-emptive evacuation reports.
Moreover, Department of Public Works and Highways said their available equipment are ready for deployment while the Philippine Information Agency assured close coordination with RDRRMC 3 members for the dissemination of advisories, road closures and announcement of class suspensions among others.
Meanwhile, uniformed personnel including Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines have alerted their disaster response units and prepared their equipment and personnel for possible deployment.
