CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) Central Luzon approved four resolutions during its first full council meeting this year.
These include the adoption of the Regional Contingency Plan for Hydrometeorological Hazard; Operation L!sto Disaster Preparedness Manual for Volcanic Eruption; Damage Report and Recovery Interventions for Areas Affected by Tropical Cyclones Rolly and Ulysses; and programs, activities and projects to be endorsed for National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council funding.
During the meeting, Office of the Civil Defense OIC-Regional Director Shelby Ruiz thanked Department of the Interior and Local Government for formulating the manual, and enjoined member-agencies to support the implementation and cascading of the DILG Volcano L!sto Protocols.

Ruiz also encouraged local government units to come up with preparedness manual and continue to increase their capacities in mitigating such hazard.
“As we are moving towards the new normal, there are other regional plans that needs updating. These include the Regional Disaster Response Plan and Regional DRRM Plan, among others,” she said.
Further, Ruiz cited the National Economic and Development Authority for coming up with the recovery plan interventions for areas affected by tropical cyclones Rolly and Ulysses and requested other member-agencies to provide their inputs and comments for the finalization of the said plan.
