Dinalupihan, Bataan – In a heartwarming gesture, Bataan 3rd District Representative Maria Angela “Gila” Garcia on Saturday celebrated her birthday by hosting a special party for children with special needs (SPED) at her official residence in Barangay Rizal, Dinalupihan, Bataan.
“It was not only a celebration but also an opportunity to give back to the community,” said Rep. Garcia.
The highlight of the celebration was the distribution of P5,000 to each parent of a child with special needs, a gesture that touched the hearts of many. The financial assistance thru the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) aims to support the families in providing for the unique needs of their children.
“We are planning to build an enclusive learning resource center in all the towns of the 3rd District (Dinalupihan, Bagac, Morong and Mariveles) para po may akmang pasilidad para po sa lahat ng learners with special needs. We are also in coordination with DepEd, DOH, CHED and all other sectors to implement all our projects and programs for our SPED children,” Congresswoman Gila Garcia said in an ambush interview.
In addition to the SPED children’s party, the day was marked by the blessing and inauguration of five infrastructure projects in various barangays. The projects, located in Barangay Tubo-tubo, Pita, San Ramon, Layac, and Daang Bago, were inaugurated from 1 to 5p.m. as part of the festivities.
Among the projects inaugurated were the Barangay Health Center in Tubo-tubo, the covered court in Pita Sta. Lucia National High School, the covered court in San Ramon Elementary School, the Layac Barangay Hall, and the Daang Bago Barangay Hall. These infrastructure projects are expected to benefit the local communities by providing better facilities for health and recreation.
The event was attended by notable personalities, including Dinalupihan Mayor German “Tong” Santos, Pusong Pinoy Partylist Representative Jett Nisay, 3rd District Chief of Staff Rolly Rojas, and respective Barangay Captains. Their presence added to the festive atmosphere and underscored the importance of community involvement and support.
Rep. Garcia expressed her gratitude to everyone who joined the celebration and emphasized the importance of inclusivity and support for children with special needs. The event not only celebrated her birthday but also highlighted the spirit of generosity and compassion that defines the community of Dinalupihan and the 3rd District of Bataan.
