Initial efforts of the MVP Group (working through our Tulong Kapatid consortium) have focused on assisting the rescue efforts, particularly in Pampanga.
Meralco and Philex Mining have dispatched rescue teams to help find survivors of the collapsed building in Porac.
Meralco provided the floodlights for rescue efforts last night. As a follow through, the PLDT Smart Foundation and Alagang Kapatid of TV5 are sending food for the rescuers and families of the victims. Maynilad is sending bottled water.
NLEX is providing logistics support. Next, PLDT and Smart are setting up free call stations at Porac and Clark airport to provide communications support to rescuers and the families of victims.
The telecoms services of PLDT and Smart have been operating normally since yesterday because there was no significant damage to our facilities. Meralco’s power services have also been operating normally.
