ORANI, Bataan — Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine B. Roman on Saturday led the first scholarship empowerment summit held at the Orani Multi-purpose Gym here.
The activity was attended by her scholars from all six towns of the first district namely Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Orani, Samal, Abucay and Morong.
“Gusto ko malaman ano ba ang inyong mga panaginip, ano ba ang inyong mga concerns. Para sa aking paggawa ng mga batas, maisa alang alang ko ang mga bagay na mahalaga sa inyo,” Congresswoman Roman told the students during her brief but meaningful speech.
To inspire the students with their dreams and ambitions in life, Rep. Roman invited three resource speakers from different fields which include Migs Simsuangco, Bro. Harold Espeleta and Adolfo Paras III.
Simsuangco tackled about job hunting skills titled “finding your added value in a highly competitive market while Bro. Espeleta taught the students on how to attain personal success and ways of paying back to the community.
Meanwhile, Paras tackled about HIV (human immunodefficiency virus) and AIDS awareness among youth and how to prevent the disease as well as what to do when tested positive of this preventable illness.
Celebrity guests namely Cutie Movers and GMA Artists Center talent, Mr. Pogi and One-Up member Yasser Marta entertained the students.
Before the event ended, a raffle was done giving away smartphones, powerbanks, portable MP3 players and a 2018 model Lenovo Laptop as the grand prize.
