Rotary Clubs launch $99K water project

FLORIDABLANCA, Pampanga — Rotary International District 3750 (Korea) and District 3790 (Philippines) have officially launched a $99,000 Global Grant water and sanitation project in Barangay Nabuclod, Floridablanca, Pampanga, aimed at improving access to clean water and hygiene for upland communities.

The project, designated Global Grant No. 2569386, will provide a water pump, filtration system, and comfort rooms for Camachile Elementary School, while also extending water lines to nearby Aeta communities.

The ceremonial groundbreaking was led by President Maureen Gueco of the Rotary Club of Dolores and President Seo Dong Wook of the Rotary Club of Saesongtan. As part of the initiative, 300 hygiene kits were distributed to local residents, prioritizing the indigenous Aeta population.

“This project embodies Rotary’s commitment to basic sanitation and hygiene, especially in underserved areas,” Gueco said.

Funded through Rotary’s Global Grant mechanism and supported by both districts, the project is slated for completion within six to eight months. Once finished, it is expected to benefit hundreds of students and families by providing access to safer, more reliable water infrastructure and sanitary facilities.
