MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga –Roland ‘Rox’ Pena, a long-time city councilor of Mabalacat and a respected media practitioner, has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of public service, environmental advocacy, and civic engagement.
Pena was widely known as the host of Bukas Bayan, a radio program that tackled environmental issues, governance, and community concerns, earning him recognition as a consistent voice for public awareness and accountability. Beyond public office and broadcasting, he also served as former president of the Metro Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he helped advance business and local development initiatives.
