SANTA RITA, Pampanga—The Municipal Government of Santa Rita, led by Mayor ReynanCalo, distributed post-harvest facilities to 18 Farmers’ Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs) as part of efforts to strengthen local agricultural productivity and food security.
Fully funded by the local government, the assistance package included nine hand tractors, three solar pumps, 46 grass cutters, 38 knapsack sprayers, three shallow tube wells, and one rotavator with blade. The equipment is expected to improve efficiency in land preparation, irrigation, and crop maintenance, boosting farm output and income opportunities for beneficiaries.
The turnover ceremony was attended by Dr. Arthur Dayrit, regional technical director of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office III (DA RFO III); Elma Mananes, chief of the Operations Division; Shiela Hipolito, agricultural programs coordinating officer (APCO); and Bjorn Quiambao, APCO, from DA RFO III in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga. Municipal Agriculturist Emelita Hernandez and the Municipal Agriculture Office staff also assisted in facilitating the distribution.
Calo said the initiative forms part of the municipality’s continuing support for farmers, underscoring agriculture as a key pillar of local economic development and food security.
