SANTA RITA, Pampanga — Over a hundred residents rolled up their sleeves for a bloodletting activity held on Tuesday, July 30, at the Santa Rita Plaza Covered Court, in a community-wide effort to support local health services.
The event was spearheaded by the Municipal Government of Santa Rita, led by Mayor Reynan Calo, in partnership with the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital Blood Bank and the Pampanga Provincial Health Office.

Mayor Calo himself joined the activity as one of the volunteer donors, encouraging residents to take part in the life-saving initiative.
“This is not just a one-time event,” Calo said. “We are committed to promoting health and wellness through regular programs like this that strengthen our community.”

The bloodletting drive is part of the local government’s ongoing campaign to boost voluntary blood donation and ensure sufficient supply for patients in need across Pampanga.
Health workers, volunteers, and local officials worked together to facilitate the collection process, ensuring donor safety and proper handling of all blood units gathered.

Officials said the positive turnout reflects a growing awareness among Ritenians of the value of donating blood—and of helping others, one drop at a time.
