SANTA RITA, Pampanga — In line with the observance of National Disability Rights Week, the Municipal Government of Santa Rita organized a community event for persons with disabilities (PWDs) on Wednesday, July 31, at the Plaza Covered Court.
Around 200 PWDs attended the gathering, where they received financial aid and rice packs as part of the local government’s continuing social support efforts.

The event also extended educational assistance to 83 learners under the Special Needs Education (SPED) program, with parents and teachers joining the activity in support.
Mayor Reynan Calo said the initiative reflects the LGU’s commitment to inclusive programs that empower marginalized sectors and recognize the rights and contributions of PWDs in the community.

“This is part of our vision to make Santa Rita a more inclusive and compassionate town, where no one is left behind,” Calo said.

The event featured short messages of encouragement and solidarity, underscoring the importance of accessibility, equal opportunity, and sustained public support for the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities.
