SANTA RITA, Pampanga — Mayor Reynan S. Calo of Santa Rita has taken a significant step toward preserving and promoting the town’s cultural identity by issuing Executive Order No. 005, Series of 2025, which institutionalizes support for the Kapampangan tradition of pamagduman, the cultivation and production of duman.
The executive order underscores the municipal government’s commitment to safeguard the traditional rice delicacy, considered a symbol of Santa Rita’s agricultural heritage. It also backs the town’s ongoing push for pamagduman to be recognized in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
The EO establishes a Technical Working Group to develop policies and programs that will ensure the sustainability of the duman industry and cultural legacy for future generations.
