Santa Rita rolls out weather relief operations

SANTA RITA, Pampanga – Local government personnel in Santa Rita began repacking relief goods on Sunday evening, July 21, in anticipation of worsening weather conditions due to heavy rainfall across the region.

Teams from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) led the coordinated efforts, working well into the night to prepare aid for affected residents.

Mayor Reynan Calo, accompanied by members of the Sangguniang Bayan, joined the frontliners in sorting and packing essential supplies at the municipal operations center.

In addition to the repacking efforts, local officials extended immediate assistance to Sta. Rita de Cascia Parish Church, where rising floodwaters prompted concern. Councilors on the ground helped move items to safer areas to prevent damage to church property.

“Tuluy-tuluy ya ing pamag-adya para king kapakanan na ning balen!” the LGU said in a statement. “Bayung Santa Rita—Balen ning Pag-asa!”

The municipal government said it will continue its proactive response as weather advisories evolve in the coming days.
