Second Runway for Clark airport

It was a sight to see where workers are rushing the construction of the New Passenger Terminal for Clark International Airport expected to be completed by 2020 and a new second runway will be built during the term of President Rodrigo Duterte.

The dream of having a world class airport is now a reality, thanks to the support of President Duterte, the Bases Conversion Development Authority Chief Vince Dizon and Transportation Secretary Art Tugade whose efforts made Clark now one of the premier destinations in the country today.

Construction works is at 53 percent complete as of March 2019 which being handled by Megawide-GMR. The terminal is one of the highlights of the government’s Build,Build,Build program aside from the New Clark City at Clark Freeport Zone.

Clark airport is definitely on its way of becoming  premier gateway of the Philippines and this massive infrastructure program will enhance economic activities in the Central and Northern Luzon.

During the Site Inspection at the new Passenger terminal, Secretary Tugade announced plans to build another runway to accommodate the expansion of the airport as well as to cater the new Passenger Terminal for Clark Airport.

Building another secondary runway is good for the airport and would definitely attract more airlines that will introduce more destinations in the world.

This is another welcome development for Clark airport as this would make the airport at par with other airports in the world.

Clark airport is currently at 734 flights per week with an average of 10,000 passengers daily, this has been going on since 2016 and it has become one of the busiest airports in the country today.

I take my hats off to former Clark International Airport Corporation President Alexander Cauguiran wherein during his term made an impact to the development of the airport.  Cauguiran is one of the mayoralty candidate for Angeles City. All the best and luck!
