After China’s lockdown in January, fears of a second wave have emerged in the northeast and central part of Wuhan, the epicenter of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
With the virus under control for months, Chinese are still susceptible to the infection due to lack of immunity, Zhong Nanshan, a Chinese government medical senior advisor warned. Authorities in Wuhan had also under-reported cases during the pandemic.
Zhong also said that the vaccine for COVID-19 could take years to perfect it.
Latest reports state the virus has now killed more than 300,000 people all over the world.
