Seminary in Balanga City houses 32 Bataan hospital staff

BALANGA CITY (PIA) — Diocese of Balanga opened its Virgen Milagrosa del Rosario College Seminary to accommodate 32 staff from Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC).

Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos said they are in partnership with the provincial government to respond to those who are affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine including the frontline workers.

“It is only the doors of the churches that are closed but our hands, our hearts, are always open to them. We, the diocese and the provincial government, are ready to help. With our joint hands, we carry our people on their way to safety and sound health of body and spirit,” Santos stressed in a statement.

The seminary is conducting holy mass for spiritual sustenance at 11:00AM every Thursday and Sunday.

Governor Albert Raymond Garcia extended his gratitude to the religious sector in supporting their initiatives to provide comfort for the healthcare workers.

“The provincial government is providing for their needs such as food, beddings, fans and basic necessities during their stay at the seminary,” Garcia assured.

The governor added that there are about six hotels in the province accommodating other BGHMC employees.

“We are continuously calling and coordinating with other establishments that can provide accommodation for our frontline workers so it would be easier for them to go to work,” he furthered.
