CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado congratulated the outstanding youths of the province and urged othes to contribute in nation building.
The governor delivered the message during the ‘Gintong Kabataan Awarding Ceremony’ held at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city, Friday afternoon.
“Kayong mga kabataang tumugon sa panawagan, na hindi naging bato sa pangangailangan ng iba, binabati ko kayo at buong pusong pinasasalamatan. Nawa’y magsilbi kayong patuloy na patotoo na may magagawa ang kahit na sino para sa bayan,” Alvarado said.
He also thanked Senator Joseph Victor ‘JV’ Ejercito, who he said has been an excellent youth leader, for gracing the occasion.
The senator congratulated all the Gintong Kabataan awardees and specifically mentioned the heroism of Rommel T. Ramos, the Gintong Kabataang Bayani awardee, who despite being an ordinary individual, was called ‘Super Kuya’ for carrying his brother with cerebral palsy every day to school while his father is away, working and digging garbage.
“Kabataang Bulakenyo, kayo ay maaasahan. Huwag tayong manatiling pag-asa lamang. Kailangan nating makilahok, makialam, makibahagi sa nangyayari sa ating bansa, kahit na maliit na bagay. Being a youth should not be an excuse not to do anything. Sa inyong mga awardee ngayong araw, may this be an inspiration to you and to all the youths to do even better,” Ejercito said.
