Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go distributed food packs and cash assistance to some 650 families in Plaridel, Bulacan particularly farmers who were hit hard by Typhoon Ulysses.
The distribution of food packs was held at the covered court of Plaridel municipality where Go and his team were assisted by Mayor Tessie Vistan, former mayor Jocell Vistan and the rest of the Sangguniang Bayan.
Go’s team includes personnel from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) who provided cash assistance; Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) who provided “Pangkabuhayan package” and the Department of Agriculture (DA).
The distribution team strictly observed health and safety protocols to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
“Sa abot ng aming makakaya tutulong kami ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, isa lang po kaming probinsiyano gaya ni pangulo na ginawa niyong presidente at ako naman bilang staff ay ginawa nyong senador kaya naman ibinabalik namin sa inyo ang tunay na serbiyo at kami ang dapat magpasalamat sa pagkakataon na ibinigay ninyo upang matulungan at mapaglingkuran namin kayo,” Go said.
Plaridel town is the sixth town in Bulacan where Go provided relief packs and cash assistance to victims of typhoons Quinta, Rolly and Ulysses.
The other towns were Calumpit, Marilao, Bocaue, Meycauayan City and Bustos.
Go also distributed face masks, face shields, 30 pcs of bicycles, vitamins and 30 tablets.
