BULACAN- Senator Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go inagurated the 78th Malasakit Center through virtual launching along with top local officials here and its concerned government agencies at Rogaciano M. Mercado Memorial Hospital (RMMMH) in Sta. Maria town on Tuesday afternoon.
The opening of the Bulacan’s 2nd “Malasakit Center” were the fourth medical center in Central Luzon and 78th all over the country. The two other centers were based in Bataan and Pampanga.
The center is a program of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte administration aimed and serving as a ‘one-stop shop’ medical center to hasten the delivery of medical services and give access to free medicines for poor patients.
The launching of the 2nd Malasakit Center was graced by the local officials of Bulacan headed by Governor Daniel Fernando where he urged patients and their families to avail of the program. Also presents during the opening are Sta Maria Mayor Russel Pleyto, Councilor Fe Ramos and RMMMH chief head Dr. Dave Domingo.
During his speech through virtual the senator said that patients particularly indigents confined in any hospitals with Malasakit Center can avail of the medical assistance from various partners from the government agencies such as the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine Health Insurance (PhilHealth) Corporation, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor), among others, which aims to help beneficiaries have a “zero balance” on their medical expenses.
A P10-million medical assistance to the 2nd Bulacan Malasakit Center where also received by the RMMM Hospital wherein for his part Gov Fernando and the rest of the local officials of Bulacan expressed their gratitude for the help.
“Dont thank me, it is the taxes paid to the government, These are your funds, these are government funds which President Duterte returns to you, ” Go said.
Fernando said, the first Malasakit Center in the province was based in Bulacan Medical Center in Malolos City which was launched in 2018.
