The Senate today adopted a resolution commending Jerwin Ancajas for retaining the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Junior Bantamweight Championship title last November 18, 2017, at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Senate Resolution No. 548 was introduced by Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao, himself a multi-awarded boxing athlete.
The resolution congratulated Ancajas, who hails from Panabo, Davao City for “bringing prestige to our country.”
According to the resolution, Ancajas retained his IBF junior bantamweight title via a sixth round technical knock-out against Jamie Conlan of Belfast, Northern Ireland.
