CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — Malacanang has declared Tuesday, September 15, a non-working holiday in Bulacan.
Governor Daniel Fernando who just completed his 14-day quarantine after having contracted COVID-19, said on his Facebook post, that based on Proclamation No. 1013, signed by Executive Sec. Salvador Medialdea by the authority of President Rodrigo Duterte, Bulacan will mark the 122nd anniversary of the inauguration of the Malolos Congress tomorrow, September 15.
It cited that it is but fitting and proper the people of the province of Bulacan be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies, subject to community quarantine, social distancing, and other public health measures.
The Malolos Congress ratified the first Philippine Constitution that eventually led to the proclamation of Philippine independence from the Spanish colonial rule on June 12, 1899.
