QUEZON CITY – A total of 25,357 PNP personnel were promoted in 17 Police Regional Offices across the country.
Those promoted included 2,151 Police Commissioned Officers (PCO) and 23,386 Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCO) who passed all the qualification standards for the 2020 Continuous and Regular Promotion Program effective December 16 and December 29, 2020, respectively.
In Camp Crame, PNP Chief, Police General Debold M Sinas officially conferred the promotion to 331 PNP personnel stationed at the PNP National Headquarters. Elsewhere in the regions, similar donning of rank and oath-taking ceremonies were held to officially confirm the promotion.
“Keep in mind that with the new rank comes an even greater responsibility to serve and protect our people. Do your best and be exemplary examples of law-abiding citizens. As men in uniform, that is your mandate.”Chief PNP, Police General Debold M Sinas told the newly-promoted police officers.
“Bring with you a deeper commitment to our ideals and renewed sense of service; remember that your authority to lead comes with the rank that you hold. Effective leadership must be founded on professional competence, the ability to inspire others, and to lead by example”, General Sinas added as he urged the newly promoted officers to “move forward in 2021 with even more dedication”.
On Thursday, General Sinas also confirmed and administered the promotion of 15 police generals earlier approved by President Rodrigo R Duterte.
The regular promotion program ensures streamlined rank structure of the entire 220,00-strong police organization according to the staffing pattern approved by the National Police Commission.
