Sinas welcomes NPA surrenderers from Central Visayas

CAMP CRAME – Philippine National Police Chief, Police General Debold Sinas has welcomed more communist New People’s Army red fighters from Central Visayas who chose to return to the folds of the law after their decades-stint in insurgency activities.

In a report from PNP PRO 7, the surrenderers yielded their assorted firearms, ammunition, a pump boat, and voluminous subversive documents to police authorities.

The PNP Chief recognized the anti-insurgency efforts of the Central Visayas PNP as “a breakthrough to the government’s Executive Order 70 creating the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) that program offers many opportunities for rebel returnees.”

These rebel returnees will be assisted in preparing essential requirements to avail of national government assistance under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) for full validation.
