The Central Luzon Media Association (CLMA) Pampanga Chapter, the premier media organization in Pampanga province and Central Luzon, will hold the induction and oath-taking rites of its officers for 2025-2026 at Widus Hotel Clark, on January 23, 2025.
Pampanga Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay’ G. Pineda will induct the new set of CLMA Pampanga 2025-2026 officers led by Mark Allen Sison, President (iOrbitNews/Newsweek); Albert Lacanlale, Executive Vice President (DWRW 95.1/Sun Star Pampanga); Jhoedie Bhyjay Mercado, VP for Broadcast (CLTV36); Princess Clea Arcellaz, VP for Print (Sun Star Pampanga); Joann Manabat, VP for Online (Rappler); Chiqui Cacal, Secretary (DWRW 95.1); Jenna Lumbang Parungao, Treasurer (CLTV36); and Paulo Gee Santos, Auditor (CLTV36).
The CLMA Pampanga Board of Directors includes Boy Santiago, Chairman of the Board; and Directors Arnel San Pedro, Benny Guinto, Rey Malig, Glendy Sembrano, and Jose Salazar.
The CLMA Pampanga will also present awards to individuals and organizations for their unwavering public service, including Hann Foundation Inc. for Corporate Social Responsibility; Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera for Corporate Governance; Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. for Local Governance; Mr. Rene G. Romero for Business; Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda for Humanitarianism; Pampanga Giant Lanterns for Sports; Rep. Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II for Legislative Excellence; and Rodolfo “Tatay Bong” Pineda for Philanthropy/Newsmaker of the Year.
Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PamCham) Chairman Rene Romero—Chairman and CEO of the ROMAC Group Rene G. Romero—will serve as Guest of Honor and Speaker.
Pampanga 1st District Representative Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II will also induct the new set of officers of CLMA Regional Officers led by Diosdado Pangilinan, President (Pampanga); Menchie Hernandez, EVP (Tarlac); Erick Silverio, VP for Print (Bulacan); Paolo Gee Santos, VP for Broadcast (Pampanga); Roel Tarayao, VP for Online; Eloisa Silverio, Secretary; AP San Pedro, Treasurer (Pampanga); and Aileen Sanchez, Auditor (Olongapo).
The CLMA Council of Leaders comprises Neth Carlos, Carmela Reyes-Estrope, Mel Ciriaco, Thony Arcenal, Jerry Uy, Jerry Cardona, Rogie Pangilinan, Alma Ochotorena, Jess Malvar, and Joy Franklin.
Veteran journalist Caesar “Bong” Lacson, founder of CLMA, serves as Chairman Emeritus of CLMA Pampanga and Adviser to the CLMA Council of Leaders.
Former Board Member and now City of San Fernando mayoral bet Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab, Dra. Hazel Tumang, and Dr. Reghis Romero II will also keynote the CLMA Pampanga Induction.
Over the past year, CLMA Pampanga has achieved significant milestones, including the successful regular “Balitaan at Talakayan” sessions that promote dialogue among media professionals and community leaders. The “Discuss Wid Us” quarterly discussions have addressed pressing issues, while workshops aimed at fostering campus journalism have inspired young aspiring journalists. A highlight was the “Balitaan, Talakayan, Trip Lang!”, the first media forum held on a moving bus.
Sison said CLMA Pampanga will pursue its “Campus Journalism Workshop Caravan” in coordination with various schools in the province in a bid to train the next generation of journalists.
