Caring for indigent families through Medical and Dental Missions is always a part of SM Foundations Health program. Through its partner government agencies and private organizations, such as the City Health Office, Olongapo City Medical Society, Barangay Health Workers, medical examinations of 780 beneficiaries/patients were conducted at the SMX Convention Center of SM City Olongapo Central last September 4, 2024.
Dubbed “Gamot Para sa Kapwa”, SM Foundation provided a total of one thousand two hundred fifty four (1254) services, such as medical checkups, blood tests, ECG, X-rays to the residents of Olongapo City. Apart from the medical services, free medicines for common illnesses and vitamins were also distributed to patients.
“Malaking tulong po ito sa amin na walang pampa check up sa doctor, Maraming salamat sa SM sa pagbibigay nila ng libreng gamot at check up”, remarked one of the patients.
Through the generous support of its partners and volunteers from the Local Government of Olongapo, City Health Office, Olongapo City Medical Society, Barangay Health Workers and MX3 Natural Food Supplements, the free Medical Mission was a success.
“Gamot Para sa Kapwa” is a yearly activity in all provincial malls and its barangay health center counterpart, the Felicidad T. Sy Wellness Center. Through medical missions, SM provides free medical care and services to thousands of patients which include medical consultations, basic laboratory tests and dental check-ups, as well as proper and complete dosage of medicines.
