The SM Foundation Inc. recently launched its sustainability program dubbed as “Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Farmers’ Training Program. About 180 Angeleno Farmers including the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries from neighboring barangays and municipalities will undergo a 12-week training to help improve farming by updating their agricultural knowledge, effective backyard planting and small-scale farming techniques for fruits and vegetables with the cultivation of high yielding vegetables.
Present during the launching were Angeles City Agriculture Office headed by Mr. Ericson Dagdag, the City Agriculturist and Ms. Rea Reyes Dizon, who coordinated and helped in facilitating the event. Also present were: Ms. Cristie Angeles, AVP-Outreach SM Foundation Inc., Mr. Mark June Arriola of Harbest, Mr. Ferdinand Canlas PSPO DSWD Region 3, Congressman Jonjon Lazatin, and Engr. Ronaldo T. Abrazado, Asst. Mall Manager, SM City Clark.
This project aims to improve and empower the lives of the farmers and the community, and through these training, more families will have nutritious food on the table for their children and have the chance to have additional income.
