The Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) has revealed the list of Most Outstanding Business Taxpayers for 2017, and the SM group of companies again earned the first 4 spots in terms of taxes paid based on the gross sales of 2016. Meridien Business Leader, Inc. (The SM Store) ranked #1, Supervalue,Inc. (SM Supermarket) ranked#2, SM Prime Holdings Inc. ranked #3 and Star Appliance Center, Inc.(SM Appliance) ranked #4.
Olongapo City Mayor Rolen Paulino handed over the Plaque of Appreciation to the SM Group during the flag raising ceremony held at the Rizal Triangle recently together with the rest of companies who made it to the top 50 list.
Paulino said that the tax collected this year has increased by 10M compared last year, a good indication that the city is progressing and more projects will be delivered next year.
The presence of SM, with more than 100 tenants has made a big impact in the increase of tax collection in the city, not to mention the CSR program of SM under the SM Cares which offers worthwhile activities for the community, other programs like the SM Foundation Scholarship, Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Farmers Training Program, Donate a School project and many more.
The top taxpayers awardees were recognized as the Most Outstanding Business Taxpayers in the city based on their gross sales in 2016 making it a remarkable benefactor for sustaining, maintaining, and improving the public services provided by government to its citizen.
Most Outstanding Business Taxpayers include Abacus Book & Card Corp. (National Bookstore), Jollibee Foods Corp., Ace Hardware Phils. Inc., Fresh and Famous Foods, Inc. (Chowking and Greenwich), Pinoysticks Corp.(Mang Inasal)and Familyhealth & Beauty Corp.(Watsons), all from SM City Olongapo.
