Smart chair Manuel V. Pangilinan recently celebrated his 70th birthday with students of the Jose Escaler Memorial School in his home province Pampanga, to whom he donated digital learning tools.
In line with Smart’s advocacy to use technology to help enhance learning among students, Pangilinan turned over a Smart TechnoCart, a 2 ft x 2ft mobile laboratory containing 20 tablets for students and a laptop, projector, and mobile WiFi for the teacher. The TechnoCart can be easily wheeled from classroom to classroom.
The tablets are pre-loaded with the Batibot mobile application, the first educational app for kids in Filipino which is aligned with the kindergarten curriculum of the Department of Education.
Meanwhile, Smart’s value brand TNT partnered with Land Bank of the Philippines and Smart subsidiary Voyager Innovations, through its financial technology company FINTQ, to give out 1,000 kits containing school supplies. TNT also partnered with the Vibal Group to showcase the Vsmart app which is an integrated e-textbook reader.
