SMC completes Pampanga River cleanup effort

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) has marked a significant achievement in its “Better Rivers PH” initiative by successfully completing the cleanup of a 26.3-kilometer stretch of the Pampanga River. The project, which involved the removal of nearly 700,000 tons of silt and waste, has enhanced water flow, deepened the riverbed, and mitigated flooding risks in the region.

“This milestone demonstrates our dedication to fostering safer and more resilient communities,” said SMC Chairman and CEO Ramon S. Ang, expressing gratitude to those who supported the effort.

The Pampanga River cleanup forms part of SMC’s broader environmental commitment to restoring the health of the country’s vital waterways, addressing environmental concerns, and supporting disaster resilience initiatives.
