Sta. Rita boosts student immunization drive

STA. RITA, Pampanga—Eighty-seven Grade 7 students of San Basilio National High School received vaccines against measles-rubella (MR) and tetanus-diphtheria (Td) on August 19 under the Department of Health’s Bakuna Eskwela program.

The school is the 13th in Sta. Rita to benefit from the initiative, raising the total number of vaccinated students in the town to 837. Two more schools are scheduled this month, targeting an additional 295 learners, while a catch-up phase in September will cover those who missed earlier rounds.

Mayor Reynan Calo thanked school officials and the Municipal Health Office, led by Dr. Vince Vizcayno, for ensuring the success of the program, which aims to protect more Ritenian students and strengthen community health.
