Councilor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. has refiled his resolution seeking the status of salary adjustments and additional bonuses of government employees stated in Executive Order 201 Series of 2016.
The resolution first filed on July 27, 2016, was held in abeyance in the City Council, upon the request of Majority Floor Leader Councilor Alexander Indiongco “since the Chief Executive will be submitting the Supplemental Budget No.1 in a week’s time.”
“Since it has been more than two weeks, and we are still waiting for the submission of the supplemental Budget No.1, siguro puwede na nating marinig ang sitwasyon natin mula sa Local Finance Committee,” Lazatin said.
“After all, we owe it to the tax payers and our city workers. Matagal napo kasi nila itong hinihintay,” he added.
The Executive Order 201, provides for modified salary schedule, including step increments for civilian personnel.
It also states that beginning 2016, a mid-year bonus equivalent to one basic salary “shall be granted to those who have rendered at least four months of satisfactory service.”
The Executive Order also provided that employees will received an increase of productivity bonus, amounting to P5,000.
Lazatin on July 27, 2016, filed a resolution “respectfully requesting the City Mayor thru Local Finance Committee to provide the City Council an update on the status of the implementation of the first tranche compensation adjustment in Local Government Units (LGU’s) as provided under the Executive Order (EO) no. 201 series 2016”.
Lazatin reiterated his stand that “he is with Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan on this issue, adding that he is offering his help in looking for possible means to grant the salary adjustments of our employees.”
“Kasangga po tayo ni Mayor Pamintuan para sa kapakanan ng empleyado,” Lazatin said.
