Pampanga Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda delivered food assistance to two families from Mindanao who are stranded in Bacolor town.
Upon learning that the families’ lack of income due to the coronavirus pandemic, Pineda, thru Provincial Administrator Atty. Charlie Chua, immediately coordinated with Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), led by Elizabeth Baybayan, to distribute the food packs via house-to-house.
Gov. Pineda made a statement then that the Provincial Government of Pampanga will assist every resident of the province to assure their welfare amid the COVID-19 threat.
“Sa ganito man lang pong paraan, mabawasan ang alalahanin ng mga Kababayan ko,” he said.
Aleli Adobar, one of the family members, thanked Gov. Pineda for the immediate assistance.
“Salamat po sa tulong. Gustong-gusto na rin po namin makauwi. Sana po matulungan niyo rin po kami,” Adobar said.
Moreover, according to PSWDO Chief Elizabeth Bayabayan, the families will be referred to Department of Social Welfare Development (DSWD) for possible Balik Probinsya assistance.
