MAGALANG, Pampanga – A top official of the Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) has encouraged students to know more about the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
In her speech during the ASEAN Campus Forum at PSAU, Vice President for Academic Affairs Anita David emphasized the importance of knowing and understanding ASEAN in order to partake in achieving its vision.
“You are fortunate they [Philippine Information Agency] came to us. It’s not only PSAU, it’s not only the Philippines that you have to know. You have to know your world,” she stressed.
She also reminded them to take every opportunity they can get to learn more about ASEAN and the world.
“Appreciate what ASEAN can offer and be responsible citizens of the country. Be a better person, not only for yourselves, your family but also for the world,” David added.
“As part of hyping the Philippine Chairmanship of ASEAN this 2017, PIA in Central Luzon will be holding campus forums in different provinces to educate and pitch support from the youth in this endeavor,” PIA Regional Director William Beltran said.
Prior to PSAU, PIA conducted ASEAN Campus Forums in Tarlac State University, Central Luzon State University, Aurora State College of Technology, Tarlac Agricultural University, Bataan Peninsula State University, and Ramon Magsaysay Technological University.
Bulacan State University will be playing host to the final Campus Forum on September 21.
