Long known as a premier destination for both tourism and international sport, the Subic Bay Freeport Zone offers athletes and their supporters a vibrant mix of hotels, resorts, golf courses, water sports, and modern infrastructure designed to support world-class events.
Since 2016, the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) has proudly partnered with Sunrise Events to stage IRONMAN races, positioning Subic Bay as the home of Philippine triathlon. The region continues to demonstrate its capability to host premier events while showcasing the warmth and hospitality of the local community. Subic remains a destination that athletes return to year after year—for the race, and for the experience.
Now on its 9th edition, the IRONMAN 70.3 Subic Bay race remains one of the most anticipated stops on the Asia circuit. It serves as one of the final qualifying events for the 2025 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Marbella, Spain, with 45 coveted slots available.
“Subic Bay is a very special race destination,” said Princess Galura, President and General Manager of Sunrise Events Inc. “Athletes love the closed roads, the challenging but scenic course, and the warm welcome from the local community. With the continued support of SBMA and our community partners like the SBFCC, we’re able to stage a world-class race that athletes of all levels, from first-timers to elite qualifiers, look forward to every year.”
