TARLAC CITY — City government of Tarlac has committed to ensure that education continues amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
In an interview, Mayor Cristy Angeles revealed that a total of 45,200 bags with complete school supplies are set to be distributed from the fourth week of September until the first week of October in all 88 public elementary schools in Tarlac City.
“To our parents, please enroll you children whether in distance learning or study from home. We are willing to provide them school bags with school supplies hence, you do not have to worry about this matter,” she said.
Also, 11 huge digital printing machines with toners and 70,000 reams of bond paper were turned over to the Department of Education (DepEd) as aid to the online distance and modular learning.
“About 25,000 pieces of expandable plastic envelopes were also given to DepEd for the printed learning materials of the students in Grade 7 to 12,” she noted.
Moreover, Angeles mentioned the assistance to college scholars from Tarlac State University and Tarlac Agricultural University.
“All 640 scholars, whether grantee or full scholars, received 32-GB tablet, 16-GB flash drive, sim cards and free internet connectivity load for one semester from the city government,” she noted.
Meanwhile, private school scholars received cash assistance for their tuition fees.
