TARLAC CITY – The provincial government led by Gov. Susan Yap recently turned over a P1 million check and 10 motorcycles to the Tarlac Police Provincial Office [TPPO] as part of its renewed effort to maintain peace and order in the province.
Tarlac Provincial Police Director P/SSupt. Ritchie Posadas received the P1 million cheque and the 10 Suzuki GSX-R150 motorcycles from Yap and Vice Governor Carlito “Casada” David during a simple ceremony at the Capitol. Posadas has completed his two-year tour of duty and P/SSupt. Jesus Rebua, a native of Tarlac will replace him in acting an capacity at the TPPO.
The P1 million donation is intended to fund the purchase of short and long firearms of the local police force.
Yap said that the donations of motorcycles will address the mobility problems of our local police in maintaining the peace and order in our province.
“As head of the peace and order council, I must oversee the implementation of our council’s plan,” she said.
David said that the TPPO need the support of the local government in order to boost the efficiency in the battle against lawlessness in the province.
Posadas thanked Yap and the provincial government for the all the assistance it has extended to the TPPO in the past years.
“I thank Governor Yap for the innumerable assistance that has extended to our local police,” Posadas said adding that the motorcycles are needed to complement the mobility requirement of law enforcers and for the maintenance of peace and order in the province of Tarlac.
Right after the turn-over ceremony, the TPPO officials led by Posadas conducted their annual new year’s call with the governor at
the Bulwagan ng mga Gobernador.
The new year’s call is a traditional activity wherein all TPPO members pays a courtesy visit to provincial officials.
All the eighteen chief of police and their deputies in the province are present during the occasion.
Yap, in her message, thanked the TPPO officials for making our province peaceful.
“I thank Col. Posadas for making sure our province a peaceful place to live. Tarlac is the most peaceful province in the entire region three and I thank all the men in uniform,” the governor said.
Board Members Jude Joseph David, Antonio Cervantes Jr., Henry “Tootsie” Cruz and Alain Carlo Sawit also came to witness the turn-over ceremony, signing of the deed of donation and the new year’s call.
