Tarlac Governor Susan Yap has condemned the cold-blooded slaying of a mother and son in Barangay Cabayaoasan, Paniqui, Tarlac province on Sunday in the hands of a policeman.
Senior Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca of the Paranaque City Crime Laboratory shot dead his two neighbors identified as Sonya Gregorio and her son Frank Anthony Gregorio on Sunday after a minor issues involving a firework.
Yap said it was clear the policeman did not exercise maximum tolerance in dealing with the minor problem that ended up in the brutal and senseless killing of the victims.
“Whatever commotion happened before the shooting incident, the police officer should not have murdered the victims. He should have observed maximum tolerance,” according to Yap.
Based on the video which went viral in the social media, Nuezca’s daughter apparently further complicated things when she engaged the victims in a heated conversation that later irked the policeman.
“There are no sacred cows here and the full force of the law should be imposed against this police officer. Erring cops have no place in our society,” said Yap.
“I will personally follow up on this case and make sure that justice will be served to the victims.” The cop will be facing a double murder charge.
