TARLAC CITY (PIA) — Governor Susan Yap has issued an executive order which prohibits any form of discrimination against confirmed and suspected coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients and health workers in Tarlac.
“Performing acts of hatred or violence, which cause stigma or humiliation to Persons Under Investigation, Persons Under Monitoring, COVID-19 positive patients, health workers and frontline workers is strictly prohibited and any person proven guilty of it, will be sanctioned,” Yap stated in Executive Order No. 12, Series of 2020.
Forms of discrimination include refusing to give assistance, refusing to provide goods and services, refusing to employ, and publicly claim or posting in social media without the permit of the concerned.
“Any person found guilty of these acts of discrimination will be held liable under the existing laws and ordinances,” Yap added.
