CAMILING, Tarlac — Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) recently held its 2nd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Festival coinciding with the regional bloc’s 50th anniversary and Philippine chairmanship.
“The university-wide activity aims to strengthen the students’ awareness and understanding on the significance and benefits of ASEAN integration to the country,” TAU President Max Guillermo said.
The ASEAN parade was the highlight of the celebration where students and faculty from all colleges and departments have represented the 10 member states of ASEAN.
The two-day activity featured competitions such as ASEAN Quiz, Photography and Video Clip Contest, Essay Writing Contest, ASEAN Traditional Games, ASEAN Entrepreneurship Challenge, and On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest.
Moreover, there were information sessions namely Student Mobility Forum, Parallel Sessions, Professional Development, Opportunities and Grants for HEI Staff, and ASEAN Campus Forum in partnership with the Philippine Information Agency.
