A teacher was killed on Sunday by his brother-in-law over a land dispute in Bulacan.
In a report to PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., the Malolos police identified the victim as Mark Anthony Benedict, 36, a teacher and resident of No. 1069 Tawiran St., Bgy. Panasahan, Malolos City in Bulacan, while the suspect was identified as James Emerson Fernando, 30.
The police said the two had an old grudge over their land property accidentally met and had a heated argument that later led to the shooting of Benedict.
The victim was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival while the suspect escaped after the incident.
The Malolos police immediately flashed an alarm to arrest the fleeing suspect.
