PORAC, Pampanga – More than 20,000 supporters gathered at MMT Farm in Barangay Manibaug Libutad on Saturday, April 5, as Team Tapang-Lusung launched their campaign for the 2025 elections, signaling strong momentum just 40 days ahead of the polls.
Mayoral candidate Mike Tapang and vice mayoral bet Vincent Lusung led the event, backed by a complete slate of councilor candidates and powerful endorsements from businessman Rodolfo “Tatay Bong” Pineda and reelectionist Senator Francis Tolentino. Pineda, in a fiery speech, criticized “corrupt and incompetent mayors” without naming names, while alluding to the downfall of dismissed Porac Mayor Jaime “Jing” Capil over a POGO-linked administrative case.
Team Tapang-Lusung also took aim at what they called “political recycling,” referring to vice mayoral candidate Jen Capil, daughter of the embattled former mayor. With endorsements from 19 of the town’s 29 barangay chairs and a sweeping eight-point platform, the team vowed to deliver integrity-driven leadership and inclusive progress to Porac.
